Vocus Communication
The team at Enfold were engaged by Vocus Communications to design and build their new workplace fitout in Melbourne. Enfold undertook an extensive research, surveys and statistics from the surveys were used to develop a brief and a clear spatial strategy that was applied to the planning of two floors at Flinders St.
The environment that Vocus wanted Enfold to create was one that is welcoming and warm and supports a workplace culture of innovation. The two floors are connected vertically via a stair that was designed to allow natural light to penetrate through via perforated metal panelling. A combination of ceiling and wall lighting is used to create height and intimacy throughout the space.
Casual meeting areas are planned around the stairs and connect to an extensive breakout space. Exposed ceilings in the breakout give the space a sense of informal lightness and openness.
There is a variety of individual café style seating and booth seating which allow the staff to be flexible when using the space.
All workstations in the fitout are sit/ stand supporting the health benefits of an active workforce. Casual meeting areas are designed throughout the open plan area offering alternate work zones for the staff and encouraging collaboration between different departments. Quiet booths are offered as an alternative space if staff require acoustic relief from the open plan environment.
The success of this project is due to the commitment and relationship between Enfold and Vocus who are national partners for all Vocus workplace environments.
